As you may know, the pope was in the UK this weekend, and he made some very serious comments comparing the nazi movement with the "extremist" modern atheist movement, he warned the crowd saying that godlessness can lead to very terrible things like those done by the nazis. Of course the whole atheist community was outraged by the pope's uneducated claims and this Saturday Richard Dawkins delivered this wonderful speech, a real smack in the back of the head to the whole Vatican. There is no need for me to mention that Hitler referred to god in almost every speech, and that his whole Jew hatred was mostly based on his belief that the Jews had killed Jesus. Just watch the video.

They should make Richard Dawkins the pope.
To be honest, not a huge fan of Dawkins or the Pope. Both preach absolutes; either that there HAS to be a God, or that there CAN'T be a God. I fall in that camp in between who says that man can never know, one way or the other, and as such, there's no need to make absolute claims.
Still, you're right, that was an interesting speech.
Richard Dawkins = Pope of the Atheist Movement. He's not an idiot. He makes tons of money by selling his books, doing guest appearances, making speeches, etc. The more virulent and hateful/controversial he is against religion, the more money he makes.

Actually Dawkins has never and will never claim that God CANT and ABSOLUTELY doesn't exist, he can be very aggressive some times, but i feel that we need that kind of attitude sometimes, especially when these incredibly uneducated and offensive statements are made by the head of the church.
Agreed with Ankiseth. I don't care for either side. But I have to say, I found the pope's analogy much more offensive. I'd actually be accepting of his teachings (accepting, not believing) if he taught understanding instead of threats and warnings. Scare tactics are forms of terrorism, which is never acceptable.
I love Richard Dawkins for this, the Pope had no business making the statements he did if he couldn't back them up.

Richard Dawkins said that he is 99.99% atheist. He said that he can't be a 100% atheist because no self respecting scientist will claim that.
